Bus USB Charging Units

Hayakawa, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of wire and cabling solutions, has supplied the wire harnesses used in the USB charging points installed into the revolutionary and next generation bus and coach seats currently being developed by Isringhausen.

Many bus and tour operators across the UK are investing in technological advancements to meet the growing demand from customers wanting on-board power to their mobile phones and devices. On-board USB charging points and free WiFi will become more common place in UK cities, as operators to continue to upgrade their fleets.

Isringhausen has been supplying ISRI® driver seats to a vast number of vehicle manufacturers for decades. They are one of the world’s most trusted suppliers and operate the highest standards of quality and performance.

Having worked within the supply chain of the transportation sector for some years, Hayakawa was able to supply the high quality wire harnesses, designed to a specification outlined by Isringhausen. The components were developed in-house at Hayakawa’s manufacturing facility in North Wales.

The management team from Hayakawa will be visiting the Meet The Buyer, London Underground and Rail exhibition supported by the Welsh Government on 3rd October at Cardiff City Stadium.

The annual capital investment into London’s underground and rail network totals £1.3bn. A major programme of investment is currently underway to improve safety and reliability, maximise capacity and expand the network.

Phill Harry, managing director of Hayakawa UK, is looking forward to meeting senior representatives of London Underground and Rail to learn more about the potential opportunities to supply goods to these major projects.

Rail ExhibitionHayakawa UK was proud to exhibit its capabilities and technologies at the Rail Exhibition in Cardiff on 17th September 2014, supported by the Welsh Government.

The event gave attendees the opportunity to meet with a number of major Tier 1 suppliers, including Knorr Bremse Rail Systems UK, who manufacture breaking, air supply and hydraulic systems, BTRS Cabling Division who manufacture a range of products for Bombardier Transportation (Rolling Sock) UK Ltd and Faiveley Transport, manufacturers of CCTV, door systems and air distribution ducts. CompeteFor, a web based tendering company that supports the Crossrail project, delivered an interesting presentation that demonstrated the way in which the organisation works to match suppliers with buyers.

Phill Harry, Managing Director of Hayakawa UK, attended the event and said: “Having developed some cost effective and reliable cabling solutions for the rail sector’s third rail heating systems, we were keen to gain a wider insight into the rail industry. We hope we can assist in the realisation of further efficiencies across the network with new exciting developments, many of which are currently being conceptualised and tested.”
