Hayakawa UK had a night to remember at the Croes Howell restaurant near Wrexham.

Staff and partners gathered to celebrate Hayakawa enjoying 25 years of business in the UK with a black tie event.

General Manager Devinder Bansal commented, “We wanted to say a big thank you to our staff for all their hard work and dedication. We’ve all had a fantastic evening – great food, great party atmosphere and a big thank you to everyone who has made Hayakawa the success it has become through 25 years of hard work and customer dedication.”

The Mayor of Himeji, Mr Toshikatsu Iwami and his wife, along with a delegation from Japan, visited Hayakawa UK as part of a Japanese tourism promotion of North Wales. They have selected the best twenty Roads in the World; one of these being “Wonder of Castles Road’’, which runs from the south of Wrexham along the North Wales coast.

Mr Takeharu Nakajima, a Welsh Government Representative based in Tokyo, was instrumental in arranging and overseeing the visit.

The Mayor is in North Wales to visit Conwy Castle as it is being twinned with the famous Himeji Castle in Japan, both of which are Unesco World Heritage Sites and on 6th July a ceremony will be held in Conwy.

The twinning of the two castles comes as a result of North Wales tourism building close links with the Japanese tourism industry. As HIUK head office is in Himeji, the Mayor wanted to include this in his visit, as along with promoting tourism, Mr Toshikatsu Iwami’s visit was also to help promote Japanese companies in North Wales.

Whilst visiting HIUK the Mayor planted a Japanese maple tree on the grounds, a tangible symbol of not only Hayakwa’s growth and prosperity, but of the flourishing relationship between North Wales and Japan’s tourism.

Hayakawa, the reputable manufacturer and supplier of bespoke wiring, cable assemblies and lighting cables, are proud to have been awarded continued Sony Green Partner status until 2019.

Sony established the “Sony Green Partner Standards” in 2001 with the aim of encouraging suppliers to introduce Green Partner environmental management systems. This certification recognises that Hayakawa has successfully passed Sony’s rigorous environmental requirements, whilst also highlighting the company’s commitment to the environment and it’s sustainability.

The Sony Green Partner certification enables Hayakawa to be a “preferred supplier” to Sony and to other companies who seek a supplier who has achieved Green Partner status.

Hayakawa New Premises

Hayakawa, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of wire harnesses, has doubled the size of its operational facility by moving to larger premises in Wrexham, North East Wales. The relocation will provide much needed space to drive ongoing growth and enable the company to rapidly respond to market demands.

Hayakawa is now taking the opportunity to implement many best practices associated with lean manufacturing. The company’s warehousing facility has more than doubled, which will greatly improve efficiencies for technicians and operators. The manufacturing and warehousing divisions will be located strategically to increase productivity and enhance collaboration throughout the workforce. The facilities for Hayakawa’s administrative division have also significantly increased.

Specialising in the design, manufacture and supply of wire harness and cabling solutions, as well as PCB assembly, Hayakawa plans to create further job opportunities to accommodate the company’s anticipated growth. A number of roles will be created by the end of 2016.

Commenting on this latest investment, managing director Phill Harry, said: “Demand for high quality wire harnesses has been increasing across a number of sectors, including commercial vehicles and UK manufacturing. Moving to larger premises enables us to respond to this demand quickly whilst supporting the needs of our expanding workforce. We are implementing a range of 5S and lean manufacturing techniques during this relocation to ensure we really maximise this opportunity to improve our operational efficiencies and deliver the best possible service to our valued customers.”

Hayakawa recently celebrated its 50th anniversary and this relocation is set to see the company enjoy continued growth and prosperity. The company’s highly experienced engineering team offers unparalleled expertise and is looking forward to working closely with clients at the new manufacturing facility.
